About the Show

Your body can outlive your mind. We’re changing that.

Brain health, told through two decades of rehab medicine and the science hospitals don’t have time for.

The Plasticity Project exists because too many people reach retirement with a healthy body and a mind that’s already gone. Dr. Asha Dhuka treats brain injury on the front lines of traditional medicine and brings on physicians, naturopaths, and specialists who look at cognition from every angle. Every episode turns clinical experience into something you can actually use before decline starts.

The Host

Dr. Asha Dhuka

Board-certified in Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Brain Injury

Dr. Dhuka is a board-certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with additional certification in brain injury medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine, completed an internal medicine internship at Jersey Medical Center, and finished her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine. Today she serves as Medical Director at Post Acute Medical (PAM) Rehab Hospital and is affiliated with Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, where she leads multidisciplinary teams treating patients with physical disabilities and traumatic brain injury. She’s also a martial arts practitioner who trains alongside professional fighters, which shaped her interest in repetitive head trauma and long-term cognitive decline. The Plasticity Project is where her clinical experience and her research obsession finally get to talk to each other.

“I’ve watched people lose who they were six months after retirement. This is about staying who you are.”
